Tilly is out of one of our foundation mares, Britains Tigre Lilly, who was graded with a first premium by the KNN in 2012. Lilly has produced a succession of stunning foals, all of which have proved sensible and capable when started under saddle, and it is hoped that Tilly will be my ridden horse when she is older - she has been started summer of 2023 and is proving very trainable.
Her sire is the superb KWPN stallion Upgrade, who is a beautifully modelled son of the well-known showjumping stallion, Heartbreaker. In his performance test, Upgrade was impressive with his powerful jump and super hind technique. In addition, this stallion displayed superb movement in walk, trot, and canter.
In Upgrade's pedigree, the genes of Heartbreaker are combined with those of the Westphalian mare Palette, a daughter of the famous Pilot. This son of Pilatus is the top stallion in Westphalia and has produced many international showjumping horses and licensed stallions.

Upgrade, highly placed in several championships for young horses, presented his first foals to the public in 2006 and the offspring report praises Upgrade’s foals for their correct exterior, their expression and their superb movement
Upgrade was very successful with Caroline Müller and John Whitaker in the Grand prix ring. These combinations obtained good results in respected shows such as CSIO 5* Rome (I), CSIO 5* Rotterdam (NL), Zwolle (NL), Aarhus (DK), Verden (GER)), Oldenburg (GER), Drachten (NL) and Maastricht (NL). His first foal crop has produced many successful 1.6m GP offspring, so it is hoped Tilly will be a jumper!

In September 2017, Tilly was Presented to the KNN for her foal evaluation. She was awarded a First Premium, and was Best Pony foal, and obtained the highest marks for a filly.

Covid-19 put paid to any KNN grading in the UK in 2020 and 2021, and BREXIT related licensing delays meant that the KNN could not grade Sport Knabstruppers in the UK in 2022, 2023 or 2024, so it is hoped that Tilly will be presented for grading in 2025.
